I really love UIC! I think my experiences in the College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs and the Honors College have played a huge role in why I love it here. They're both smaller, so it feels more personal. I've heard some dorms are not great, but I've really liked living at JST. Rooms I've seen in the ARC and MRH/TBH are good, too. Dining hall is okay- better than some others I've tried, but not amazing. Party scene and campus life are minimal because it's a commuter school, but everyone still makes friends. Great restaurants and lots to do in the area, so I personally don't feel like I'm missing out on frat parties/sports games. If it's really your thing, there are still some, but not as much as a party school or flagship. Internship/professional opportunities are incredible here. I've enjoyed the vast majority of my professors and the diversity of the student body is really great.

I have truly enjoyed UIC's academic and social life! All the professors have been incredibly patient and helpful, especially regarding my status as an international student and all the campus resources made it so much easier for me to adapt to my new environment.

You get out of this school what you put into it. I have found life long friends and there is always something to do on or around campus if you put in effort to seek those things out. I enjoy my college's professors and my peers, however the administration is honestly terrible. The higher-ups penny pinch constantly and the resources they provide are underfunded, understaffed, and often just terrible and useless. The food is also notoriously bad; the dining hall workers do not care if you live or die. It's understandable, but It's not great when the people cooking your every meal don't care if the meal is edible or not. The housing is also under kept and they don't care about your living conditions. I had a window fall into my dorm and shatter, leaving glass in my feet and legs after campus housing ignored my request for maintenance for WEEKS. I also had a friend drop out after his room filled with sewage and housing refused to provide him with a different place to stay.
