Emily Wickersham is blonde (again) – and fans can’t help but notice how much she looks like her former NCIS character Ellie Bishop!

In a July 2023 Instagram post, Wickersham shared a photo of her new light hairstyle, which is a bold transformation from her brunette locks. “back to blonde programming,” she captioned the photo. She also credited celebrity hairstylist Ashley Javier Parlor for the new look. (Parlor’s past clients include Angelina Jolie, Penelope Cruz, Zoe Kravitz, Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner and more).

Fans flooded the comment section stating about how much the actress resembled her fan-favorite character. “Makes me miss Ellie Bishop,” one user posted with a crying emoji. Others suggested that she should return to NCIS with her new hairdo. “Maybe with this hair you back to NCIS :),” a fan penned. “Does that mean your back at @ncis_cbs finally??,” another wrote. (Head over to the actress’ Instagram post to read dozens of comments just like these.)
It’s been a while since we last saw Wickersham portray Eleanor “Ellie” Bishop on NCIS. She played the special agent from Season 11 until her surprise exit in Season 18. Wickersham announced that she was leaving NCIS in an Instagram post on May 25, 2021. “I’ve been lucky enough to be a part of a show where I got to show up and act and laugh and learn with wonderful people,” the actress said. “A moment in time I surely won’t forget. Thank you CBS and NCIS for including me in a part of television history.” CBS’s official network Instagram left Wickersham a heartfelt comment to her post: “Thanks for making history with us…Our one and only Ellie Bishop.” Read her full statement below.

The actress didn’t provide an official reason for leaving theNCIS at the time of her departure. But two months after, Wickersham revealed on Instagram that she was pregnant with her firstborn. Her pregnancy and future baby could have contributed to her decision to leave the show at the end of Season 18. The actress had her son, Cassius Wickersham Dale, in December 2021 with her partner and fellow actor, James Badge Dale.
The last time we saw Bishop was in the NCIS Season 18 finale when her character was written off. We learned that Bishop leaked a confidential NSA file a while ago, and ex-CIA instructor Odette Malone (Elayn J. Taylor), who was training Ellie, intentionally planted the file so that Bishop could go on an undercover mission alongside Odette. Bishop was subsequently fired from the unit, but the vague storyline left room for Ellie to return one day.
CBS or Wickersham have not said anything about a potential return by Ellie, but you can never say never in TV (we’ve seen plenty of stars reprise their roles across primetime – think Jesse Spencer as Matthew Casey in Chicago Fire and Christopher Meloni as Elliot Stabler in Law & Order: Organized Crime). Based on the overwhelming fan response, it seems like NCIS viewers would gladly welcome back Ellie with open arms. If Wickersham does decide to return one day, it might be a while until we see Ellie again because of the ongoing writers and actors strike.
NCIS is available to stream on Paramount Plus.

Mark Harmonstarred as Leroy Jethro Gibbs, a Supervisory Special Agent at the NCIS, from Seasons 1 to 19. But at home, Harmon is also the father of two sons with fellow actress Pam Dawber, his wife of 36 years. The couple welcomed their first son, Sean Harmon (age 35), in April 1988, followed by their second son, Ty Harmon (age 30), in June 1992. In May 2018, Harmon explained toCloser Weeklywhy his family keeps a low profile – even on social media. “It’s not even a choice. It’s who we are,” he said. “We stay home. A lot. I’m not a Twitter guy or a Facebook guy. Our sons aren’t into that, either.”

His wife, Pam, who acted on sitcoms likeMork & MindyandMy Sister Samspoke about why she put her career aside to raise her and Mark’s kids. “I had children and it was like, ‘I’m not going to chase this fame thing,’” Pam toldCloser Weekly. “I wanted to drive my kids to school. I wanted to be there for their birthdays and bring cupcakes and doughnuts. And I was very happy to do it.” In the interview, Harmon also admitted that he wasn’t there to see his son take his first steps. “I was in the jungles of New Guinea making a not-very-good movie [Till There Was You] when my firstborn took his first steps,” he described. “No job is worth missing life’s most important moments.”

Sean has decided to follow in his parent’s footsteps as an actor (and he’s a stuntman and producer too). According to hisIMBd page, Sean has appeared inNCIS,NCIS: Los Angeles,Major CrimesandCSI: NY. Sean stepped in as a younger version of his father’s character, Leroy Jethro Gibbs, in a few flashback scenes in Season 13, Episode 1 ofNCIS. Meanwhile, Ty Harmon also dabbed in the entertainment business as a writer; he wrote the short film,Catholic Schoolgirl Chainsaw Showdown, in 2012.

Since 2003, David McCallum has portrayed retired NCIS doctor Donald “Ducky” Mallard and is currently longest-running cast member on the CBS drama. He was married to his first wife, Jill Ireland, from 1957 to 1967. However, McCallum’s Great Escape co-star, Charles Bronson, romanced his ex-wife and the two split. “I never hated him, Charlie was always a good friend,” he told Mirror UK in January 2017 about Ireland’s affair, but admitted that it was tough because of the kids they shared. “It was an extremely difficult time, not least because we had three children.” McCallum and Ireland had three kids: Paul, Valentine (Val) and Jason, who the couple adopted.

Jason tragically died from an accidental overdose in 1989. McCallum spoke about the devastating loss of his son to the Belfast Telegraph in January 2016. “You never come to terms with the death of a child,” McCallum reflected. “The pain is very real, but it’s like an ache that turns into anger. Meanwhile, his other son, Val, is a guitarist who has played with Sheryl Crowe, Jackson Browne, Lucinda Williams, The Wallflowers and more.

The actor married his second wife, Katherine Carpenter, in 1967. With Carpenter, McCallum has a son Peter and a daughter Sophie. Sophie and her dad have a podcast together titled Life, Love + Good Stuff; Father and Daughter chats with David and Sophie McCallum. On the podcast, they “ share about living life through the lens of self-love, how familial relationships and life experiences hinder or fuel an authentic and rewarding life filled with conscious and compassionate self love,” according to the show’s description. McCallum also has eight grandchildren.

Sean Murray plays Special Agent Timothy McGee on NCIS. He married his wife Carrie James, a teacher, in November 2005. They have two children: Cay Ryan Murray (age 16) and River James Murray (age 12). Murray’s daughter, Cay, guest starred in Season 19, Episode 19 of NCIS. The actor called the experience “so cool on so many levels.” “One of the first things we did at the show, we had a picture of my daughter up on the plasma screen in the squad room and we’re talking about her being a potential suspect and da da da,” he recalled to Entertainment Weekly in February 2023.”

He continued: “And I remember that as soon as we started filming that scene and that picture went up on the plasma screen, my brain went into this sort of, not panic, but it didn’t know what to do. I guess I didn’t realize how much I kind of compartmentalized work and home. And so all of a sudden, my home life sort of being at work, it flustered me just seeing a picture of her.” Murray also said that he’s thankful that Cay was on the show because now he has a sweet memory with his daughter onNCIS. “I will always have a piece of film — or digital video — of my daughter and I both doing what we love together on screen. So that’s something that will always be there, and I’ll always be thankful for that.”
