HiPerformance modular home design also includes many shades of Green building levels that outperform site-built homes.”
Nationwide Homes has more than 60 years of experience, and a network of builders in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, Tennessee, and West Virginia.
Example Plan 1: Farmhouse II
This modular prefab farmhouse floor plan offers you 2,289 square feet of space to call your own with 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms.
The bottom floor features a spacious living room, a combined dining room and kitchen, a downstairs bedroom, multiple bathrooms, and a utility area. You also get a factory-built porch, and room for an additional porch if desired. Upstairs is a hallway connecting two bedrooms with an additional bathroom.
Example Plan 2: Farmhouse III
Prefer a more modest home? A nice option with a smaller square footage is Farmhouse III. This split ranch floor plan is 1,632 square feet, and features three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
The great room, dining room, and kitchen are all part of one combined space, keeping the floor plan open. To one side of these main living spaces, you will find one of the bedrooms along with an adjoining bath. The second and third bedrooms are located on the far side of the house. The floor plan also includes a mudroom, foyer and pantry.
2. Huntington Homes
Huntington Homes is a prefab builder that has been around since 1978. Huntington Homes writes, “Back then, there were no competitors or an industry standard to follow. We simply moved on the idea that we could build a better home, and do it indoors.” The company’s 100,000-square-foot shop is located in Vermont.
You can order a home from Huntington Homes if you are in their service area, which comprises Vermont, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire.
Example Plan 1: Modern Farmhouse
One example of a beautiful prefab farmhouse built by Huntington Homes is the Modern Farmhouse. This was actually a custom project built in collaboration with a Massachusetts firm called Albert, Righter & Tittman Architects Inc. The general contractor on the project was H + Y Construction, and the home was completed in 2012.
Describing its role on the Modern Farmhouse project, Huntington Homes writes, “Huntington Homes provided a ‘naked modules’ package for this project. Our scope included all of the framing, mechanical rough-in, insulation, air sealing, sheetrock, sheathing, and windows. The local contractor provided all interior and exterior finishes.”
With its white façade, metal roofing, and red door, this house unites rustic and contemporary design elements into a stunning whole. The interior features a lot of rustic materials, but overall, the layout and furnishings are quintessentially modern.
While this was a custom home, you may be able to commission Huntington Homes to build something similar for you.

Example Plan 2: Westminster II
If you would like a farmhouse that looks very much like a converted barn, one plan that may appeal to you is the 2,852-square-foot Westminster II from Huntington Homes. This plan features four bathrooms and four bedrooms, all under a classic gambrel style roof.
The bottom floor features the family room and the kitchen central to the layout, with a dining room, mudroom, master bedroom, master bathroom, and study along the sides of the house. The home can include both a porch and a deck. The family room features a high ceiling, with the top floor open to below.
Upstairs, you will find two bedrooms to either side of the open space above the family room. Each has its own convenient bathroom. There is also an additional bedroom that is somewhat secluded from the rest. The remainder of the available space is simply loft space that you can use for storage or anything else that springs to mind.
3. Yankee Barn Homes
If you are looking for a company that offers a wide range of farmhouse plans for rapid, cost-effective prefab construction, turn to Yankee Barn Homes.
This company has been in business for more than half a century. Yankee Barn Homes writes, “Our trademarked True Wall™ and True Roof™ Panels are built in our Yankee Barn Homes factory located in New Hampshire and offer total design and integration of your home shell package with your floor plan and post & beam frame. We have built homes from coast to coast and overseas and because of our panelized construction we can access remote areas and ship virtually anywhere.”

Yankee Barn Homes also talks about its construction methods and materials specifically for its farmhouses. The company says, “The post and beam half-lap joinery system we use is over 1,000 years old. It is known for great strength and ease of fabrication with a smooth assembly. In contrast to traditional building methods, the versatile panel construction allows open volumes of space and infinite room configurations. This system works extremely well when building in this style as original American farmhouses were built using the post and beam method.”
So, you are getting a home that is not only high in quality when you order from Yankee Barn Homes, but also high in authenticity.
Example Plan 1: Ashuelot Lodge
Looking for a farmhouse that provides you with considerable outdoor living space and comfortable, roomy interiors? The Ashuelot Lodge may fit the bill.
At first glance, this looks like a two-story building, but Yankee Barn Homes describes it as a single-story floor plan with a loft and an optional basem*nt. The bottom floor offers 2,092 square feet of space, while the loft adds 637 square feet more.
If you opt to add the basem*nt, you get 1,767 square feet extra, complete with a pair of bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms.
What we like the most about this floor plan is the massive sheltered porch that spans the entire front of the home. This farmhouse would be perfect for a location where you are surrounded by beautiful views.

Do you want to live in a large farmhouse with a lot of windows? You might consider the Oberon model from Yankee Barn Homes.
This spacious estate gives you 3,002 square feet of living space. That includes three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and two half bathrooms.
