Utterly stunning! You can’t help but be blown away as you drive down to The Queen’s Hut and loch. The ‘hut’ is beautifully decorated and nicely luxurious. Every view from the hut is gorgeous but waking up and seeing the loch from the bed, or the copper bath is just wonderful. Several nights we sat by the fire pit watching the sun set and the loch turn golden, with ducks quacking and feeling very lucky and relaxed. Royal Deeside is rather lovely and so much to see and do from castles, walks, nature reserves and nice places to eat, that’s if you can tear yourself away from the Queens Hut. The kitchen is well equipped, although don’t bring too much chilled or frozen food as the fridge is rather smaller than you’d expect given the quality of everything else. (under counter size with a very small freezer compartment at the top). Everything was squeaky clean and big fluffy towels and robes made us feel as if we were at a spa! Paddleboading on the loch was super fun too !

The Queen's Hut is one of the most magical places we've ever stayed. The lochside location is so tranquil nestled amongst the trees. We were lucky enough to have fantastic sunny weather; the loch is the perfect place for a swim. the fire pit is great for an evening bbq with a glass of wine. the house itself is so full of character and well located to explore the local area. We definitely recommend and will visit again in the future.

We were overwhelmed by the beautiful location and perfect cabin Sonia was so helpful and understanding to our queries The Cabin is sympathetically restored and decorated. Extremely comfortable and functional. With informative information pack about local shops. Restaurants. Cafes. Walks etc The outlook onto the Loch is divine in every type of weather and time of day. It’s was so relaxing to sit with the fire burning in the evening or enjoy the fire pit outside. Just perfect Plenty of wildlife to observe from the Cabin with some very friendly ducks who greeted us each morning for breakfast Thank you Sonia. You and your team should be extremely proud of the Queen’s Cabin

If I could give 10 stars, I would. This is a truly perfect, extremely well thought out and maintained property with a fabulous history (read the notes!). Just a short drive from Balmoral, the Fife Arms in Braemar and the wonderful Loch Muick, it’s location is simply divine. Sitting in the tranquillity on the edge of our own Loch was the stuff of dreams for a city slicker like me, and we truly had a proper detox from the rat race. Amazing, truly.

If you have a stack of windows open across the top of your computer comparing Airbnb's for price vs location, like I usually do, then stop here. This was hands down, one of the nicest places we've ever stayed in Scotland. Waking up to the ever changing view of the loch every morning was wonderful. The Queens Hut is cosy, private and a genuinely relaxing place to stay.We visited Newburgh beach to see the seal colony and also took a trip to Braemar for lunch at The Fife Arms. Other than that we just hung out at the hut. You honestly don't want to leave. It's a wonderful part of Scotland and we hope to make it back to the Queens Hut soon (if the diary isn't fully booked out) because it should be!

A stunning hut in absolutely beautiful surroundings is a must for anyone wishing either a relaxing time or something a bit more energetic with the abundance of local walks and gorgeous scenery. We visited in early December and were treated with partially frozen loch, mist rolling in across the loch and red skies at night making the view from the window seat truly magical. Inside it is comfortable and homely with a mixture of seating arrangements (loved the chaise longue in the bedroom) and has everything you need for a break away in the country. All in, a thoroughly enjoyable stay that will live long in the memory, well, until we go again next year and make new memories!!

Such a beautiful property, the pictures do not do it justice! Open the curtains in the morning and you’re greeted by a view of a loch… We will definitely be back. The property was immaculate, comfortable and cosy and a great location for so many great walks, pubs and local amenities. It’s in amazing part of Scotland and if you love the outdoors you can’t go wrong.

Idillic spot with plenty of stunning walks right on the door step. We loved the luxury roll top bath after a long day exploring the hills around Aboyne. Plenty to do in the area and the accommodation was immaculate with some lovely touches throughout.

What a fantastic place - felt completely hidden from the world, watching the sun set over the loch every evening was magical. The place was so well stocked as well with all the kitchen utensils etc you could ever need, and so clean. Even the local ducks were welcoming - we will definitely be back!

This is a well located, beautifully restored cottage. It was luxurious to come back to after a day’s walking in the fantastic countryside, with some walks direct from the cottage.Sonia was super helpful. Everything was well thought out and immaculately clean. We loved the peace and quiet, the darkness at night and the private access to the water, with fire pit and seating. There were some lovely touches, including welcome Prosecco (much enjoyed, thank you!), useful kitchen / food items, chopped firewood and samples of locally made soap. It’s close to Aboyne, where there seemed to be everything we needed, from food and eating out to gifts. Thank you!

Thanks so much for a wonderful stay. We couldn’t have chosen a better location, waking each morning to the view of the loch was a treat and in the evenings we were in the perfect spot to see bats and the Osprey! The Queen’s Hut has been beautifully renovated and the accommodation is first class.

What a fabulous "hut", the setting is beautiful and so peaceful and serene. The cottage is perfectly furnished and everything so well thought out. Spotted deer every day on the walks and loved coming home to the fire and firepit outside. Even managed paddleboarding on the Dee! Sad to be leaving, we will be back!

“The Queen's Hut is a really special place. The photos don't do it justice. Fantastic lochside location, surrounded by pine trees, which made our stay really memorable. The Hut was really well equipped and the service from Sonia and the Dunecht Estate team was excellent. We'll certainly be back.”

Wonderful setting, marvellous views (even when it rains!). Calm and peaceful surroundings and excellent accommodation. We have enjoyed our week here and shall definitely come back. The log fire was a great bonus, especially in the cold weather for the middle of May. We're sorry to be leaving.
